By Aaron Humes: Minister for Immigration Senator Eamon Courtenay deplored the “attack” by Public Service Union President Dean Flowers with regard to recent Immigration missions to Bolivia and Peru, saying apologies by him and Channel 7 News’ Jules Vasquez were not enough.
The missions were strictly to renew passports and not offer other Immigration services, and Courtenay repeated that these missions were and are not tied to the narcotics trade. Applicants paid all their fees and revenue and it has all been accounted for.
The forthcoming missions in the United States are a result of issues with machinery within the Consulates and Embassies, and where Belizeans are gathered without consular services, they can band together and seek out services in renewing passports only.
