The Issue: The conviction of Ghislaine Maxwell for recruiting and grooming young girls for Jeffrey Epstein.

In regard to the guilty verdict of Ghislaine Maxwell, some are saying that justice is served (“Ghilty,” Dec. 30).

While there seems to be little question that Maxwell’s actions were, shall we say, not upstanding or in accordance with civil society’s norms. However, her actions are only half of the story.

With the jury finding Maxwell guilty of recruiting under age girls for Jeffrey Epstein, when will the questions start as to who, besides himself, Epstein was supplying the girls for

A jury has weighed the evidence and found Maxwell guilty of sexual exploitation of minors.

The message is loud and clear: This kind of behavior — even from wealthy “elites” — is not acceptable.

I hope that others involved in this scandal are similarly prosecuted.

Just because one is rich and famous should not give them a license to commit these horrific crimes involving children, which leave a horrible stain of shame on the victims for the rest of their lives.

We often bemoan the fact that there are two standards of justice in America, that defendants of means and stature will be treated with kid gloves, while the poor and minorities will be unduly punished.

In the latest instance of a jury using its good common sense, doing its solemn duty and delivering justice, an infamous criminal has received her just deserts.

Maxwell has been convicted on five of six charges of aiding and abetting Epstein in grooming and delivering vulnerable young girls for him to violate.

The verdicts are likely to ensure that the 60-year-old felon will serve the rest of her life behind bars.

It is tragic that so many lives were shattered by the rich and powerful duo of Epstein and Maxwell, but today there is gratification.

Throughout tonight’s extensive coverage of Maxwell’s guilty verdict, not one word was mentioned regarding the parents of the girls who were groomed by Maxwell. These girls were younger than 18-years-old. They were not orphans, nor were they kidnapped.

Where were the parents while their girls were being “trafficked”? Were the parents complicit? Why are they not being held accountable? The lack of transparency leaves many questions unanswered.

The political, corporate and Hollywood elites were not protecting Jeffrey Epstein. They were protecting themselves.

I was hoping for a major disclosure of all the degenerates who took advantage of Maxwell’s services.

These brave young women deserve better than having the prosecution seal records instead of pursuing justice.

In addition to Maxwell, who else was involved with Jeffery Epstein’s criminal activities involving young girls?

Everyone knows that the US government is unwilling to investigate and prosecute past presidents, English princes or Wall Street icons.

The bottom line is that other men who participated in abusing young girls along with Jeffery Epstein will receive a free “get-out-of-jail” pass.

The guilty verdict against Maxwell was fair and well-deserved. But she is not the only guilty party.

Everyone who associated with Jeffrey Epstein knew what was going on, and some associated with him to partake in his perverted, criminal behavior. All involved should also be held accountable.

Now that Maxwell has nothing left to lose, hopefully she will attempt to cut a deal with the judge and spill her guts for a lesser sentence.

If Maxwell has one ounce of decency in her, she will finally ’fess up.
