Michigan State has bounced back from its opening night Champions Classic loss with wins in 11 of its last 12 games, and the Spartans will look to continue that run Sunday at Northwestern.
The Wildcats have scored at least 70 points in nine of their 10 games and rank 41st in the country in points scored on a per-possession basis.
Michigan State has done its damage from the outside, as its 39.8 3-point shooting percentage ranks eighth in the country. But the Spartans will be going against a Wildcats bunch that rates 21st in points allowed on a per-possession basis.
The Spartans also have failed to create turnovers, ranking 307th in percentage of possessions in which they have forced a turnover. Northwestern has committed a turnover on 12.1 percent of its possessions, which ranks third in the country.
Northwestern is tied with Arizona for the nation’s top 2-point shooting defense in terms of percentage and double-digit scorer Chase Audige will be back after missing the first seven games of the season, so the Wildcats will roar with a win on Sunday.
The play: Northwestern, +1.5.
