These nuns went flying in Central Park!
A gaggle of nuns from the Sisters of Life retreated to the park Saturday morning for a short sledding break.
Three of the sisters, of their white habits and snow boots, sat on a round sled as one other gave them a push. They squealed in delight as they zoomed downhill, tumbling off on the backside.
“OK. To the baptism!” one of many nuns exclaimed after the fast journey was over.
Sister Magdalene, the native superior, mentioned the nuns ventured to the park when it appeared they might not have the ability to journey from their East 66th Road convent to their disaster being pregnant middle in Decrease Manhattan.
“We principally couldn’t get our vehicles out of the snow. There have been so many vehicles caught, we determined to go sledding,” she mentioned. “It was actually enjoyable.”
The nuns hold sleds on the convent only for days like Saturday.
They even introduced them alongside to the baptism at St. Vincent Ferrer Church on Lexington Avenue.
“They allow us to put them within the again,” she mentioned.
The winter storm, which was named Kenan, had dumped greater than eight inches of snow on Central Park by late morning.
