Armed California jewelry store owner fends off smash-and-grab suspects

The proprietor of a California jewellery retailer fended off 5 smash-and-grab theft suspects after he flashed his legally owned firearm, police mentioned.

The person, recognized by KTVU as Usman Bhatti, foiled the tried theft at his retailer contained in the Tanforan Mall in San Bruno at about 1 p.m. Jan. 21.

The proprietor educated his firearm towards the gun-wielding suspect, who subsequently ran away along with his remaining cohorts.

Bhatti instructed KTVU that he had no different choice than to drag out his gun.

“I’m not attempting to be a hero or a macho man … it simply occurred very fast and I had no alternative,” he instructed the outlet.
