Bronx man sentenced to 19 years in fatal NYC barbershop shooting

A Bronx man was sentenced Friday to 19 years in jail for a deadly taking pictures inside a barbershop almost 4 years in the past, officers stated.

Trafarrah Smith, 38, was sentenced by Bronx Supreme Courtroom Justice James McCarty after pleading responsible to first-degree manslaughter final month, in response to the Bronx District Legal professional’s Workplace.

Smith shot Kevin Higgins, 40, within the torso and leg round 8 p.m. on April 17, 2018, contained in the Atmosphere Unisex Salon on White Plains Street in Williamsbridge, the DA’s workplace stated.

Higgins collapsed on the street after dragging himself out of the barbershop and later died at Montefiore Medical Heart.

Smith was arrested throughout the road shortly after.
