Video shows Canadian great-grandad, 78, arrested for honking horn in support of ‘Freedom Convoy’ truckers

A diminutive 78-year-old man was wrestled to the bottom and cuffed after honking his automobile horn in help of the “Freedom Convoy” truckers protesting Canada‘s COVID-19 mandates, video reveals.

Now-viral footage reveals 4-foot-10-inch-tall great-grandfather Gerry Charlebois being confronted by an Ottawa cop who ultimately pressured him to his knees as he cuffed him Sunday.

“What did he do improper?” a bystander asks the officer, who initially snaps, “None of your f—ing concern, man.”

“It’s an offense — it’s an offense to beep your horn. It's,” the officer later tells a gaggle heckling him for “abusing outdated males.”

Charlebois, who was sporting pajama pants on the time, was ultimately marched away in cuffs by two officers who towered over him.

Gerry Charlebois was given a $118 bylaw ticket for “pointless noise.”

The retired highschool janitor later advised the Toronto Solar he was “so sore” after struggling cuts and bruises on his arms and fingers, shoulder and knee throughout his arrest.

“I meant no hurt,” Charlebois, a great-grandfather of 4 and grandfather of 11, advised the Canadian paper.

“I simply gave the trucker a thumbs-up and a honk.”

Considered one of Gerry Charlebois’ youngsters, Gerald, known as his father’s arrest “disgusting.”

Charlebois — who's double-vaccinated and never one of many protesters — mentioned he was in the end given a $118 bylaw ticket for “pointless noise,” claiming the cops advised him he “was in bother for honking the horn.”

“I used to be in shock,” he advised the Toronto Solar, saying he was “confused” and solely cursed on the arresting officer as a result of he was so “pissed off” over why he was being arrested.

Police have cracked down on horn-blowing amid complaints from locals concerning the ways utilized by the “Freedom Convoy” truckers who've blocked foremost areas in protest of strict vaccine mandates.

A decide on Monday — a day after Charlebois’ caught-on-camera arrest — granted a 10-day injunction towards horns in Ontario.

In the meantime, one among Charlebois’ 4 youngsters, Gerald, known as his father’s arrest “disgusting.”

“There was no must be so tough with him … They didn’t appear to arrest any of these huge truckers like that,” Gerald advised the Toronto Solar.

One other son, Steve, mentioned, “He’s simply 4 foot 10 … He wouldn’t damage anyone.”

Neither Ottawa police nor Mayor Jim Watson have commented thus far on the outrage, in line with the native paper.
