Whoopi Goldberg was suspended from ABC’s “The View” Tuesday night after she claimed the Holocaust was “not about race.”
“Efficient instantly, I'm suspending Whoopi Goldberg for her mistaken and hurtful feedback,” ABC Information president Kim Godwin tweeted.
“Whereas Whoopi has apologized, I’ve requested her to take time to mirror and study in regards to the impression of her feedback.”
Goldberg, 66, claimed Nazis and Jews have been each white on Monday’s program, and repeated the assertion on “The Late Present With Stephen Colbert” that night. She walked again the remarks on Twitter later that night time amid widespread outrage.
“As Jonathan Greenblatt from the Anti-Defamation League shared, ‘The Holocaust was in regards to the Nazi’s systematic annihilation of the Jewish individuals — who they deemed to be an inferior race.’ I stand corrected,” she wrote.

In an e-mail to ABC staffers, Godwin defined her choice to droop the co-host.
“Simply final week I famous that the tradition at ABC Information is one that's pushed, sort, inclusive, respectful and clear,” she wrote.
“Whoopi’s feedback don't align with these values.”
Godwin went on to reward Goldberg for inviting an ADL consultant on Tuesday’s present to debate her offensive remarks.
