400 bulletproof vests set to be donated to Ukraine stolen in NYC: cops

About 400 used bulletproof vests that have been presupposed to be donated to Ukraine have been stolen someday in a single day from a nonprofit group in Manhattan, police mentioned Wednesday.

The vests have been being saved at 203 Second Ave. close to twelfth Avenue within the East Village and have been slated to be despatched to the nation that has been below siege by Russian forces since Feb. 24. 

Any person known as 911 after discovering the heist at 9:19 a.m., police mentioned.

However Suffolk County Sheriff’s Workplace spokeswoman Vicki DiStefano mentioned her company was unable to verify whether or not the vests they donated have been those that have been taken.

“Whereas we can't verify that the objects the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Workplace donated are the objects in query, it's despicable that somebody would break right into a constructing and steal provides and supplies meant to help these affected by this humanitarian disaster,” DiStefano mentioned. “We provide the NYPD any help it wants in finding these stolen objects.”
