Scorching begin

Luis Guillorme, Dominic Smith and Nick Plummer every crushed an opposite-field house run within the first inning off Nationals right-hander Josiah Grey.

Heads up

J.D. Davis was hit within the again by a Will Harris pitch within the third inning, however he proved to be no worse for the wear and tear and stayed within the recreation.

Caught my eye

Proprietor Steve Cohen and workforce president Sandy Alderson made the journey to West Palm Seashore to observe Buck Showalter’s first recreation (albeit an exhibition) managing the Mets, a 6-2 win.

Sunday’s schedule

The Mets will play host to the Cardinals at Clover Park for a 1:10 p.m. recreation. David Peterson will get the beginning and is scheduled to be adopted by Tylor Megill and Drew Smith, amongst others.
