A 17-year-old boy has been charged with a hate crime for allegedly punching a transgender teen lady, cops stated.
The suspect – who was not recognized due to his age – approached the 15-year-old sufferer on Pennsylvania Avenue close to Liberty Avenue in New Tons round 3:15 p.m. Jan. 18 and punched her whereas making anti-transgender statements, police stated.
The sufferer refused medical consideration for minor accidents to her face.
The suspect was busted round 11:30 a.m. Thursday at his faculty, East Brooklyn Group Excessive Faculty on Kings Freeway, in line with police sources.
He was charged with assault as a hate crime and assault, cops stated.
It was unclear Friday whether or not the kids knew one another.
