California industrial facility explosion injures multiple people

An explosion at a Los Angeles-area industrial facility injured 5 folks Thursday and prompted close by colleges to go on lockdown. 

The incident occurred round 9:15 a.m. at a facility within the 4200 block of Third Road in Montclair, 33 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. Some accidents included burns and shrapnel, a hearth official advised reporters.

4 folks have been hospitalized and one particular person was handled on the scene, a Montclair hearth official advised reporters. Their situations weren't disclosed. A fireplace ensuing from the blast was extinguished and bomb and hazmat groups have been on the scene.

The Ontario-Montclair College District stated the blast had no affect on its colleges. 

“NO IMPACT TO ANY OMSD SCHOOLS presently, some colleges have been positioned on a PRECAUTIONARY LOCKDOWN,” the district tweeted

A follow-up tweet stated classroom instruction was not disrupted.

Photos posted to social media confirmed the blast from numerous angles as firefighters have been dousing the blaze with water and round what appeared canisters on the bottom.
