John Leguizamo says “nobody” has had fun filming with Steven Seagal.
The “Tremendous Mario Bros.” star, who has been in over 100 films, revealed that even on the clunkers — “There’s just a few of these!” — that he enjoys his craft.
“I at all times have the most effective time off-camera on these films since you’ve obtained to make up for it,” the 61-year-old advised The Put up.
One exception, nevertheless, is 1996’s “Government Determination” starring Seagal, who foils a terrorist plot to grab management of an airplane.
“Yeah, I didn't have a very good time with Steven Seagal,” Leguizamo advised The Put up. “Nobody has.”
“Gene LeBell, probably the most well-known stunt man in Hollywood, was in a film with him and [Seagal] saved hitting the stuntmen on function,” he recalled.
That’s when issues obtained dicey.
“Gene mentioned, ‘Don’t try this to my boys as a result of they will’t hit you again, it’s not honest,'” he continued. “So he did it once more and Gene put him in a chokehold and mentioned, ‘You ever try this I’m going to choke you to demise.’ He by no means did it once more.”
The Put up has reached out to Seagal, 70, for remark.
Leguizamo’s newest position is a boxing coach in “The Survivor,” which is predicated on the true story of Harry Haft, who survived Auschwitz by being pressured to field different prisoners for the officers’ leisure. He had a quick pugilistic profession within the US and his final struggle was in opposition to future champ Rocky Marciano.
“Being a Latin man I perceive genocide,” the Colombian-born actor mentioned in regards to the Holocaust. “Ninety-five p.c of the Incas, Mayans, Aztecs and the Taínos have been genocided. From 5% look how many people got here again.”
He added: “We gotta rejoice these survivor tales and we gotta be reminded that individuals can do these horrible horrible issues.”
