Netflix, Apple+ drop plans for Will Smith biopic after slap: report

Will Smith is going through additional fallout from slapping Chris Rock on the Oscars — with streaming giants Netflix and Apple+ each pulling out of a deliberate film of his life, based on a report.

The most recent reported blow comes after Netflix in addition to Sony had already shelved inventive tasks with the troubled star.

Now, “Netflix and Apple+ have quietly eliminated their bids for a Will Smith biopic and can as an alternative relocate the funds and develop unique concepts from new black actors,” a supply instructed The Solar.

“Working with Will has develop into a dangerous enterprise,” the insider instructed the UK paper.

“They now plan on creating concepts with extra household pleasant stars like Mike Epps and Michael B. Jordan.”

Neither firm appeared to have commented on the report.

A “heartbroken” Smith, 53, resigned from the movie Academy Friday, admitting that storming the stage to slap Rock, 57, over a joke about his spouse’s hair was “surprising, painful, and inexcusable.”

He stated he would “absolutely settle for any and all penalties for my conduct” — a few of which appeared to have already began.

Netflix slowed improvement on its upcoming Smith-starring action-thriller “Quick and Unfastened,” whereas Sony additionally put the brakes on “Dangerous Boys 4,” based on Selection and The Hollywood Reporter.
