Haley Alonso has had it.
Taking to her Instagram Tales on Tuesday, the spouse of Mets first baseman Pete Alonso fumed after the 27-year-old was drilled for the second time this season in the workforce’s 3-0 win over St. Louis.
“2nd time this season Pete has been hit within the head and the 4th time the workforce has been hit neck up. It’s solely April,” Haley wrote. “Pitchers have been focusing a lot on velocity that they've utterly misplaced management. It’s getting ridiculous. This might finish somebody’s profession.”



In Tuesday’s recreation towards the Cardinals, Alonso, together with teammates Dominic Smith and Starling Marte, have been hit by pitches. To date this season, the Mets have had 18 batters struck.
Mets pitcher Chris Bassitt unloaded on MLB following Tuesday’s victory, stating the league “has a really large drawback with the baseballs — they're dangerous.”
“Everybody is aware of it. Each pitcher within the league is aware of it. MLB doesn’t give a rattling about it. They don’t care. Now we have informed them our issues with them, they don’t care,” he stated.
Marte added that one thing must occur earlier than anybody else will get harm.
“It’s a kind of issues, whether or not it’s intentional or not it has to cease,” Marte stated. “We’re bored with it and we’re going to need to do one thing about it if it continues to occur as a result of it's uncomfortable each time you go on the market to get hit.”
Earlier this month, Alonso was hit in a recreation towards the Nationals, when a ball grazed his shoulder and struck the helmet flap defending his face. The flap, sadly, hit Alonso within the mouth.
“Only a busted lip, that’s it,” Alonso stated on the time. “Obtained all my enamel, no concussion, I’m all good.”
The Mets and Alonso — who married spouse Haley in November 2021 — are an MLB-best 14-5 this season getting into Wednesday afternoon’s recreation in St. Louis.
