Queens pawnshop owner savagely beaten in store dies of injuries: cops

The Queens pawnshop proprietor who was savagely crushed with a metallic rod final month — so severely that cops initially thought he had been shot — has died of his accidents, cops stated Wednesday. 

Arasb Shoughi, 60, was contained in the International Pawn Store on Jamaica Avenue close to 179th Road round 1 p.m. March 28 when the male suspect viciously attacked him throughout a theft, police stated. 

Shoughi — who lived in Jamaica Estates — succumbed to his accidents Sunday, authorities stated Wednesday morning. 

The case has been deemed a murder, police stated.

Disturbing footage launched by the NYPD days after the assault exhibits Shoughi on the ground desperately attempting to boost his arms to cease the fixed flurry of blows.

However his black-clad attacker as a substitute repeatedly pushed the helpless sufferer again down on the ground to proceed the bloody assault.

Police confirmed Wednesday that the suspect — who remained on the unfastened — made off with miscellaneous jewellery from the shop. 

Responding officers initially assumed Shoughi had been shot within the head, and solely realized he had suffered blunt pressure trauma as soon as he was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Middle.

The alleged attacker was initially seen in a darkish blue jacket with a hood, face masks and inexperienced Adidas baseball cap, however newer pictures clearly present the dark-haired suspect’s face as he walks in earmuffs and sun shades.

He's described as roughly 5 toes 7 inches tall, 150 kilos, with a medium construct and medium complexion. He was final seen fleeing westbound on Jamaica Avenue, the NYPD stated.
