The person accused of opening hearth in a California church on Sunday — killing one and injuring 5 others — has been recognized.
David Chou, a 68-year-old Las Vegas man, was booked on one felony homicide cost and 5 felony counts of tried homicide, the native ABC station reported Monday.
Chou allegedly burst into Irvine Taiwanese Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods on Sunday throughout a luncheon honoring its former longtime pastor Billy Chang.
When the killer paused to reload, Chang hit him on the pinnacle with a chair whereas others moved shortly to seize his gun. They held him down and hogtied his legs with extension cords, officers stated.
“That group of churchgoers displayed what we imagine is phenomenal heroism and bravado in intervening to cease the suspect,” Orange County Undersheriff Jeff Hallock stated.
The 5 wounded have been 4 Asian males, ages 66, 75, 82 and 92, and an 86-year-old Asian lady, officers stated. 4 of them have been listed in vital situation with gunshot wounds.
