Dead man wearing ‘weighted bookbag’ pulled out of Hudson River

The physique of a 26-year-old man carrying a “weighted bookbag” was pulled out of the Hudson River on Sunday morning, cops stated. 

The NYPD’s Harbor Unit responded and dragged the “unconscious and unresponsive” man out of the water at Pier 40 Hudson River Park round 11 a.m., in keeping with police.

He was declared lifeless at 12:53 p.m.

It was unclear what precisely was within the bag, a police spokesman stated. There have been no indicators of trauma.

The Medical Examiner will decide the reason for demise.
