Rwanda’s navy has accused forces of the neighbouring Democratic Republic of the Congo of wounding a number of civilians in cross-border shelling and requested regional screens to analyze.

Rwanda Defence Power spokesman Col Ronald Rwivanga mentioned authorities are “partaking” their DRC counterparts over the shelling that Rwanda says struck areas in Musanze district on Monday morning.

Rwanda has requested that the Expanded Joint Verification Mechanism – a bunch of navy consultants from the Worldwide Convention on the Nice Lakes Area (ICGLR) to urgently examine.

The ICGLR, which includes nineteen nations throughout south, east and central Africa, was fashioned in 2008 on account of persevering with conflicts in japanese DRC.

Rwanda has described allegations of supporting rebels within the DRC as baseless.

Combating reportedly continues between DRC forces and an armed group known as M23.
