Jan. 6 committee expected to subpoena more lawmakers before televised hearings

Extra lawmakers could also be known as to testify by the Jan. 6 committee as early as subsequent week, in accordance with a brand new report.

Home choose committee chiefs of workers and aides bought phrase Friday on their weekly name with committee workers that extra legislators can be requested to testify, Axios reported Saturday.

The briefers didn't say which lawmakers can be contacted, or whether or not they supposed to challenge extra subpoenas, the sources advised Axios.

The committee on Thursday issued subpoenas to 5 Home Republicans, together with Home Minority Chief Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and the Judiciary Committee’s rating member Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).

The televised hearings start June 9.
