Noah Syndergaard trolls Mets after Angels’ ‘real’ no-hitter

Noah Syndergaard was at all times up for some social-media trolling throughout his time with the Mets, and now he’s turning it towards his former group.

After Angels rookie Reid Detmers threw a no-hitter Tuesday evening, Syndergaard posted about it on his Instagram Story, writing, “That is what a ‘actual’ no hitter seems like.”

Eleven days earlier, 5 Mets pitchers mixed for the primary no-hitter in MLB this season and the second in franchise historical past.

Syndergaard took to Twitter Wednesday afternoon to say his publish “was about Reid” and his “rarity” of a no-hitter.

“Mets have group, get pleasure from that as a substitute of stirring s–t. As do the Angels, so drop the drama and transfer on,” Syndergaard wrote.

In a follow-up tweet, Syndergaard wrote, “Oh and to be clear, I don’t assume a mixed no hitter is similar as ‘actual’ 1 pitcher no hitter.”

The 29-year-old right-hander left the Mets in free company, signing a one-year, $21 million take care of the Angels. The Mets provided Syndergaard, who spent seven seasons in Flushing, the $18.4 million qualifying provide after he missed all of 2020 and pitched simply two innings in 2021 as a result of Tommy John surgical procedure. Then, as The Submit’s Joel Sherman reported, Syndergaard bought radio silence from the Mets, so with the Angels in pursuit he went to Anaheim to attempt to set himself up for a possible long-term deal after this season.
