An off-duty NYPD officer working a aspect job as safety at a Midtown Duane Reade was punched within the face Sunday morning whereas making an attempt to cease a shoplifter from stealing beer, police mentioned.

The cop was retaining watch on the drug retailer on Broadway between West thirty fifth Road and West thirty sixth Road at round 7:20 a.m. when she was alerted that a man was making an attempt to take beer out of the shop with out paying, in accordance with police.
