Julian Assange has waged a protracted struggle in opposition to extradition from the UK to the USA, and after years, a remaining choice is imminent. However when former UN Particular Rapporteur on Torture Nils Melzer was requested to look into his case in 2018, he discovered himself surprisingly uninterested. One allegation after one other had come to cloud the narrative of Assange, liberator of state secrets and techniques. However Melzer has since investigated all of them – and he found that the extent of deception is staggering.
