Scheduled talks between the army authorities, opposition and rebels are postponed for a second time.
The sudden loss of life of longtime President Idriss Deby in April final 12 months left an influence vacuum in Chad that has led to political upheaval.
His son, military Basic Mahamat Idriss Deby, quickly took over and promised to carry elections in 18 months after a nationwide dialogue between the army authorities, opposition teams and insurgent fighters.
However these discussions have been postponed for a second time.
Preliminary talks in Qatar have made little progress.
So, what may this imply for Chad’s future?
