An Arkansas corrections officer was shot lifeless by a suspect being booked into the county jail, state police stated Thursday.

A press release from Arkansas State Police, which is main the investigation into the incident on the Perry County jail in Perryville, stated the suspect is a 37-year-old man who had been arrested by deputies and was being booked into the jail Wednesday night time when he someway accessed a gun and opened hearth.

The gunman is now being held in reference to the obvious murder.
