Joe Maddon thinks Shohei Ohtani was tipping his pitches to Yankees

Angels supervisor Joe Maddon has some ideas on Shohei Ohtani’s Yankees struggles.

The Angels two-way star was roughed up within the Bronx on Thursday, getting tagged for 4 earned runs on eight hits — three of them homers — over 3 2/3 innings in a 6-1 loss.

“They’re actually good at studying pitches, they’re actually good at it,” Maddon informed reporters. “I’m not accusing anyone of something besides that they’re good at it. Ohtani didn’t appear to have many solutions for his poor exhibiting, both.
