Meet the fan who tried to literally steal second base at Astros-Mets game

It’s not on daily basis you get the prospect to steal a serious league base. For six-year-old Oliver Richard, it was a chance he couldn’t cross up.

The Houston Astros “legend” – a title given to Richard by his favourite staff – went viral for his theatrics throughout a break in between innings of Tuesday night time’s recreation at Minute Maid Park. 

Whereas collaborating in a steal the bottom problem, through which a younger fan sprints to a dummy base and runs it again, Richard set his eyes on the actual prize and rushed towards second base. Describing his mad sprint to second base, Richard mentioned, “It’s like me seeing my greatest buddy, and I actually need to see him unhealthy, and I'm going sprinting over to him and provides him a giant hug.” 

Richard’s father couldn’t be happier. 

“It was most likely my proudest second as a father,” Austin mentioned. 

Though Richard wasn’t in a position to take away the actual second base, he was rewarded with a dummy base for his efforts. He has no intent of shedding this piece of memorabilia, which he acquired signed by Dubón following the sport. 

“Certainly,” he mentioned, “I began operating with it a bit of bit.”
