New boutique hotel Marceau will add ‘Med vibes’ to Williamsburg’s rooftop scene

Sure! Williamsburg is getting one other nightlife-oriented lodge. The small-scale, all-suites Marceau at 110 Kent Ave., close to North eighth Road, is planning to open in 2023.

The 16-suite challenge is the work of French-born Xavi De Yparraguirre, who owns French bakery Maison Marcel in Chicago. His firm signed a 10-year lease with extension choices on the 20,000-square-foot constructing. Douglas Elliman’s Jon Smilowitz represented the owner.

The inside of the 1925-built, three-story brick constructing is being redesigned by architect Chris Kofitsas, who additionally labored on ABC Kitchen and Catch.

There will probably be a rooftop bar “giving off Mediterranean vibes,” in line with the publicist; a ground-floor French-Mediterranean restaurant referred to as Madame Renee, impressed by a mysterious Nineteen Twenties Parisian hostess; and a lower-level speakeasy-like lounge.
