NYC boy critically injured after being hit, dragged by ice cream truck

An 11-year-old boy was critically injured after being struck after which dragged by an ice cream truck in Brooklyn, police mentioned.

The youth was using his bike on Sutter Avenue at about 6:45 p.m. Friday when a 58-year-old man driving a Mister Softee truck southbound on Hendrix struck the 11-year-old, police sources mentioned.

The kid was in a crosswalk and each he and the bike had been dragged by the truck for a brief distance, police mentioned.

EMS transported the kid to Brookdale Hospital, the place he was listed in crucial situation, the sources mentioned.

The motive force, Juan Remigio of the Bronx, remained on the scene and was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to make use of due care, the NYPD mentioned.
