Umpire leaves Yankees-Astros game after getting hit in mask by foul ball

The primary two pitches of the Yankees’ sport in opposition to the Houston Astros on Sunday at Yankee Stadium have been eventful.

Yankee-killer Jose Altuve homered off of Nestor Cortes Jr. on the primary pitch of the sport to provide the Astros a 1-0 lead. On the second pitch, designated hitter Michael Brantley fouled a pitch straight into the masks of house plate umpire Mike Muchlinski.

Muchlinski stumbled and catcher Jose Trevino grabbed him to assist him keep on his toes.

After briefly being examined by a coach, Muchlinski initially stayed within the sport. Then within the third inning, he left the sport underneath the help of a Yankees medical staffer. Todd Tichenor, who began the sport because the second base ump, changed Muchlinski as the house plate umpire after a few 10-minute delay. Tichenor was behind the plate for the Yankees’ 3-1 loss to the Astros on Friday.
