‘We’re Democrats, not socialists’: Adams vs. AOC in proxy war over Albany

Mayor Eric Adams is placing his political muscle behind veteran state Meeting incumbents being challenged by socialist insurgents egged on by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez within the upcoming June 28 Democratic main.

Adams on Tuesday endorsed the re-election of Harlem Assemblywoman Inez Dickens, one of many first black lawmakers to name for modifications to the bail legislation sought by the mayor in Albany.

Ocasio-Cortez is backing housing activist Delsenia Glover within the seventieth Meeting District towards incumbent Dickens.

Adams is also showing Tuesday alongside veteran Bronx Assemblyman Michael Benedetto at a Juneteenth occasion in Co-Op Metropolis. He endorsed Benedetto final week.

AOC is backing her former staffer, Jonathan Soto, within the 82nd Meeting District within the northeast Bronx that overlaps together with her congressional district.
