Former White House counsel Pat Cipollone subpoenaed by Jan 6. panel

Former President Donald Trump’s high White Home lawyer was subpoenaed by the Jan. 6 Home panel Wednesday after lawmakers discovered he was “uniquely positioned to testify” about new proof heard Tuesday.

Pat Cipollone was summoned by the Congressional committee a day after former White Home aide Cassidy Hutchinson advised the panel that the lawyer warned there could be “severe authorized penalties” if Trump joined protestors on the Capitol.

“We’re going to get charged with each crime conceivable,” Cipollone stated in reference to that state of affairs on the morning of the 2021 riots, based on Hutchinson’s testimony.

In issuing the subpoena, panel members stated Cipollone may have details about the administration’s efforts to subvert the Electoral Faculty, together with a failed effort to nominate a Trump loyalist as lawyer normal.
