Earlier within the day, 1000's of protestors broke via police limitations and stormed the official residence of president Gotabaya Rajapaksa within the industrial capital of Colombo. Viral video footage confirmed protestors wandering via the residence and swimming within the pool.

Rajapaksa, who has not resigned, was eliminated by safety forces and is in a protected location, in accordance with studies.
