2022 MLB Playoffs could see latest World Series in history

The World Collection may go later than ever.

MLB introduced its playoff schedule on Monday, and it got here with a number of notable dates for the newly expanded postseason.

Issues kick off on Oct. 7 with all 4 video games of the wild card collection and will go all the way in which to Nov. 5 — the newest end date in MLB playoff historical past — because of the 2022 season’s lockout-delayed opening.

Twelve groups will make the postseason beneath the brand new format, with the highest two groups in every league getting first-round byes. The No. 3 seed faces No. 6 and No. 4 performs No. 5 in three-game collection.

The perfect-of-five Division Collection will begin Oct. 11, high seeds play the winner of the 3-6 matchup, with No. 2 going through the 4-5 victor.

On Friday, Oct. 28, the final two groups standing will go head-to-head within the best-of-seven World Collection. It’s the primary time the championship spherical begins on a Friday since 1915.
