Anthony Rizzo has epic meltdown after getting ‘screwed over’ in Yankees loss

Anthony Rizzo let loose his frustration on the Yankees dugout.

With the group’s offense sputtering — they've scored eight runs previously six video games — the primary baseman was pushed over the sting on Monday evening by a controversial name within the third inning.

Rizzo was hit by a curveball by Rays starter Ryan Yarbrough, however umpire D.J. Reyburn dominated that Rizzo didn't make an try and get out of the way in which. The at-bat continued, and Rizzo would strike out two pitches later.

When he returned to the dugout, YES Community cameras caught Rizzo slamming his helmet repeatedly.

“Everytime you really feel such as you obtained screwed over on a name, at any time it’s annoying,” Rizzo mentioned. “We’re out right here competing on the highest stage. I’m up right here speaking to [the media]. I really feel like umpires have zero accountability once they miss one thing like that.”

Yankees supervisor Aaron Boone went out and argued the decision for a number of minutes, which can have stored an irate Rizzo from getting ejected after his preliminary response to Reyburn’s choice.

“Unhealthy name,” Boone mentioned. “The place’s he imagined to go?”

The 4-0 loss to Tampa Bay was the Yankees’ fifth defeat previously six video games.
