15-year-old NYC boy’s arm severed while ‘subway surfing’: cops, sources

A 15-year-old boy had his arm severed whereas “subway browsing” Monday morning in Queens, in response to police and law-enforcement and MTA sources.

The teen was with a bunch of friends on a northbound R prepare on the 74th Avenue-Roosevelt Avenue station in Jackson Heights round 10:25 a.m. when he was attempting to climb to the highest of the prepare and fell, touchdown on the tracks, cops and sources stated.

“We all know he was subway browsing on the surface of the automobile,” a transit employee on the station advised The Submit. “Normally once you’re subway browsing, you must get off the prepare earlier than the tunnel. He should’ve miss that time.”

The boy’s left limb was indifferent “from the elbow down,” and, “They discovered his arm below the prepare,” the employee stated.

He appeared overwhelmed by shock, the worker stated of the child.

“He was simply trying round like nothing occurred. He didn’t cry or nothing,” stated the employee, who wouldn’t give her title. 

The boy was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is in secure situation, police stated.

As of midday, northbound M and R trains have been bypassing 74th Avenue-Roosevelt Avenue station, the MTA stated.
