‘Pentagon Pie,’ ‘2977 chowder’ among ‘appalling’ items on 9/11 brunch menu

A Manassas, Virginia, nation membership was pressured to apologize Tuesday — for its 9/11-themed meals menu that included such tone-deaf gadgets as a chocolate silk “Pentagon Pie,” “2977 Chowder” and “First Responder Flatbread.”

The particular seafood menu was promoted by The Clubhouse at Aquia Harbour. The quantity 2,977 marks the official tally of fatalities on Sept. 11, 2001.

Diners on the lookout for a style of every part might order the “By no means Neglect Sampler.”

The menu shortly confronted backlash on social media, with one Twitter consumer calling the promotion “appalling.”

It has since been taken down.

Clubhouse supervisor George White issued a mea culpa on Fb Tuesday evening, saying, “I apologize for these I offended with the 9/11 seafood Sunday publish.”
