Reggie Jackson honors Queen Elizabeth with ‘Naked Gun’ joke: ‘I was innocent!’

Reggie Jackson lastly has some vindication.

The previous Yankees slugger paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, a long time after his “Bare Gun” character was programmed to assassinate the Queen in the course of the seventh-inning stretch of a sport in opposition to the Seattle Mariners.

“Now everyone knows I used to be harmless!,” he tweeted. “Amen! RIP Queen E!.”

Jackson, now an Astros govt, wore his Angels uniform for the 1988 film, having performed for the California group from 1982-86. His character, credited as “Angels proper fielder,” uttered one notorious line:

“I have to kill … the Queen.”

The 76-year-old, famously generally known as Mr. October for his clutch postseason exploits, is seemingly off the hook for this one.
