Stranded fisherman clinging to rock saved by Coast Guard during Tropical Storm Earl

A 50-year-old fisherman clinging to jagged rocks off Canine Island within the Caribbean was saved Sunday by the Coast Guard in a daring rescue throughout Tropical Storm Earl.

The rescued fisherman, who was not recognized, took his 26-foot fishing boat out to the rocks off the coast of Canine Island to spearfish when the waves began to accentuate, injuring and stranding him, Coast Guard Information reported.
