Tiffany Haddish breaks silence on sexual abuse allegations

Tiffany Haddish addressed the sexual abuse allegations made in opposition to her and fellow comic Aries Spears.

In an Instagram publish on Monday, the 42-year-old wrote, “I do know folks have a bunch of questions. I get it. I’m proper there with you. Sadly, as a result of there's an ongoing authorized case, there’s little or no that I can say proper now.”

The assertion comes after a now-22-year-old lady and her 14-year-old brother filed a lawsuit on Aug. 30 in opposition to the jokesters, alleging the pair groomed and sexually abused them throughout their childhoods.

Spears and Haddish are each accused of intentional infliction of emotional misery, gross negligence, sexual battery, sexual harassment and sexual abuse of a minor.

Haddish can be accused of negligent supervision/failure to warn, breach of fiduciary responsibility and constructive fraud. The lawsuit seeks normal and particular damages, in addition to “any applicable statutory damages.”

Spears has not but mentioned something concerning the lawsuit on social media. His final Instagram publish was on Sept. 2, telling followers to direct message him for the hyperlink to the “Spears & Steinberg” podcast he hosts with Andy Steinberg.

Haddish’s lawyer, Andrew Brettler, mentioned in a press release to The Publish final week that the lawsuit incorporates “bogus” allegations.

He mentioned that the plaintiff’s mom “has been making an attempt to say these bogus claims in opposition to Ms. Haddish for a number of years. Each lawyer who has initially taken on her case — and there have been a number of — in the end dropped the matter as soon as it turned clear that the claims have been meritless and Ms. Haddish wouldn't be shaken down.”

He added that her mom “has her grownup daughter representing herself on this lawsuit” and that “the 2 of them will collectively face the implications of pursuing this frivolous motion.”

When contacted by The Publish, Spears’ lawyer, Debra Opri, responded: “He isn’t going to fall for any shakedown.”
