Braves fans turn the tables on Edwin Diaz, erupt to ‘Narco’ during walk-up

ATLANTA — The Braves tried to show the tables — and trumpets — on Edwin Diaz.

The Mets — trailing the Braves by the eventual ultimate rating of 5-3 within the eighth inning Sunday evening at Truist Park — turned to their nearer, who had not pitched since Wednesday. After two fast outs from Diaz, Atlanta supervisor Brian Snitker changed designated hitter Marcell Ozuna with William Contreras.

Contreras, who had sat Saturday and was out of the lineup Sunday, makes use of “Narco” — Diaz’s viral entrance track at Citi Area — as his walk-up track. The sellout Braves crowd rose to its toes, made loads of noise and pantomimed enjoying the trumpet.

If the track and scene bothered Diaz, he took it out on the pinch-hitting catcher. Diaz used a fastball and two sliders to strike out Contreras on three pitches.

The Mets flew in Timmy Trumpet to play the instrument stay forward of certainly one of Diaz’s appearances in Queens earlier this season. Timmy Trumpet and the Dutch DJ duo often called Blasterjaxx are behind the tune, which Mets followers need as their very own — and Blasterjaxx agrees.
