Texas county sheriff’s office arrests precinct chief in undercover prostitution sting operation

Texas authorities say a precinct chief was amongst over a dozen individuals arrested in an undercover prostitution sting operation. 

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned its Organized Crime Unit, in cooperation with Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance (HTRA), performed the sting operation Wednesday night at a neighborhood lodge. 

The sheriff’s workplace mentioned 14 suspects in complete had been arrested for solicitation of prostitution. Amongst these was Brian Harris of the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Workplace. 

Solicitation of prostitution is a state jail felony, the sheriff’s workplace mentioned. Harris is at the moment being held on the Montgomery County Jail. 

Harris has since been relieved of responsibility, FOX 26 reported, citing the constable’s workplace. 

“We maintain our deputies to the very best commonplace,” Precinct 5 Constable Ted Heap advised the outlet, including that Harris’ termination is “efficient instantly.”

“We're sending a message that we aren't going to tolerate this exercise in our neighborhood. We are going to arrest and cost those that interact on this illicit act,” the sheriff’s workplace wrote in a information launch. “We can even proceed to establish those that have been pressured into trafficking by rescuing them from their conditions and connecting them with companies to assist with their restoration.”
