Former African Union diplomat Arikana Chihombori-Quao doesn’t see a lot hope for this week’s US-Africa Leaders Summit.
Officers in america look upon Africans as individuals “in want of assist” or individuals who “must be advised what to do”, and that is destroying relations between Africa and Washington, in accordance with the previous African Union consultant to the US, Arikana Chihombori-Quao.
“The US must name a timeout and deal with Africans with respect,” she advised host Steve Clemons, including that the US-Africa Leaders Summit hosted by the White Home this week “will fail until People see Africans as equals”.
Chihombori-Quao argues that pan-African unity is the one path for the continent to be much less depending on outdoors powers.
