Biden hails Rishi Sunak’s ascension to UK PM as ‘groundbreaking milestone’

WASHINGTON — President Biden on Monday hailed incoming UK prime minister Rishi Sunak’s choice as a “groundbreaking milestone.”

Biden talked about the brand new Conservative Occasion chief at a White Home occasion celebrating Diwali, the most important Hindu spiritual competition.

Sunak, 42, is a former chancellor of the exchequer, a place roughly equal to US treasury secretary. His spouse, Akshata Murty, is the daughter of Indian billionaire N. R. Narayana Murthy, who co-founded the Infosys outsourcing big.

Biden presided over the White Home’s Diwali gathering with Vice President Kamala Harris, whose mom was born in India.

Throughout the occasion, Harris recalled her personal visits to India as a toddler.
