Jets Super Bowl champion Dave Herman dead at 81

Dave Herman, who helped defend Joe Namath within the Jets’ historic Tremendous Bowl III win, died Wednesday at 81.

For many of his 10-season profession, Herman performed at proper guard however head coach Weeb Ewbank shifted the offensive line round within the 1968 postseason, together with transferring Herman to proper sort out.

Herman was chosen by the Jets within the 1963 draft out of Michigan State and made his debut in 1964.

His job grew to become much more important in 1965 as New York picked Namath, the star quarterback from Alabama who would turn into the face of the AFL.

Probably the greatest linemen within the sport, Herman was named to the All-AFL groups from 1967-69 and was an AFL All-Star from 1968-69.
