Letters to the Editor — Oct. 23, 2022

Agent help
James Gagliano will get the information flawed in regards to the FBI Brokers Affiliation (“Wokery pays on the FBI,” PostOpinion, Oct. 20).

The try by somebody exterior the bureau to politicize the FBI or FBIAA is shameful. Our efforts had nothing to do with endorsing any group and even techniques.

FBI brokers had been deployed in Washington, DC, in 2020 to guide federal regulation enforcement’s response to protests. Throughout one deployment, a bunch of brokers, exercising their skilled judgment, took an motion (“taking a knee”) to diffuse a tense state of affairs.

The brokers had been beneath intense scrutiny and going through knowledgeable disaster. FBIAA supplied the brokers with a private notice and a present card, as we have now beforehand when involved in regards to the well-being of our members.

FBIAA’s job is to assist fellow brokers, to not second-guess a call made when they're serving. We handle our personal. We stand with our members of their time of want, and for this we don't apologize.

Psychological disaster repair
The Oct. 20 column by Stephen Eide hits the nail on the pinnacle (“Cuo’s sick name lower psych beds”).

For many years, left-leaning utopian politicians sought to shut, stigmatize and demean mental-health amenities. Granted, a few of these locations had points, however the “fixes” politicians enacted have been disastrous.

1000's of acutely mentally sick individuals have been launched to communities the place they terrorize and hurt their households and most people. When will politicians present collective resolve and understand that institutionalization is the one recourse for a lot of of those individuals?

Till then, the each day horrors that we see will proceed.

No Vlad at G20
You report that the Biden administration is working towards avoiding a gathering between the president and Russian President Vladimir Putin on the upcoming G20 summit (“Joe to ‘shun’ Vlad at G20,” Oct. 20).

Wouldn’t or not it's extra smart and honorable to disinvite Putin from attending? In any case, he’s a warfare felony heading up a nuclear-tipped third-world economic system. He deserves banishment, and maybe Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ought to be invited as a substitute.

Horse loss of life
Relaxation in peace, candy Ryder. You're a pure angel who has earned his wings of freedom (“Relaxation in peace, Ryder,” Oct. 18).

Your story has uncovered the atrocities of the horse-carriage trade and undoubtedly saved quite a few horses from additional abuse.

I hope the previous two months spent at an upstate farm supplied you with the kindness and appreciation you so really deserve. Animal lovers throughout proclaim you “King Ryder.”

‘Defund’ hypocrisy
I need to thank The Publish for stating the hypocrisy of Rep. Cori Bush, who's so fast to make use of her marketing campaign funds to rent non-public safety for herself whereas concurrently making an attempt to disclaim police safety for working-class People (“Defund! However Not My Cops,” Oct. 17).

Essentially the most ironic a part of this story is that she’s supporting the “Defund the Police” madness as a result of: “We’re making an attempt to avoid wasting lives.” Anybody who is admittedly involved about saving lives would help all law enforcement officials.
