Shake-up in NYPD detective bureau over on-duty booze scandal at Electric Zoo festival

A complete of now 20 NYPD supervisors and cops have been booted from the Detective Bureau in Manhattan North over the on-duty boozing scandal on the Electrical Zoo music fest, police sources advised The Put up on Friday.

As The Put up reported earlier within the week, three Manhattan narcotics detectives allegedly swiped liquor and partied on-duty on the Labor Day weekend live performance, resulting in the removing of the trio, plus a supervising lieutenant and two sergeants, from the bureau.

On Friday, a dozen extra cops and one other pair of supervisors had been booted out of the bureau over the incident, too, sources stated.

The supervisors had been ID’d as Deputy Chief Brian McGee and Inspector Peter Fiorillo.

Along with these two supervisors, a captain, two sergeants and 9 detectives within the patrol borough narcotics unit had been moved to numerous new instructions across the metropolis, sources stated.

It's unclear how the cops transferred Friday may need been tied to the incident.

The division’s Inside Affairs Bureau is probing the allegations tied to the pageant together with the Manhattan DA’s Workplace, sources stated.

A rep for the NYPD solely stated that the orders had been “primarily based on the wants of the division,” when requested about transfers and their connection to the boozing scandal.
