‘Jeopardy!’ announces new tournament with former contestants

“Jeopardy!” followers will get to observe a brand new competitors in 2023 — that includes some acquainted faces.

The present introduced its former “Teen Event” contestants might be returning for a “Excessive College Reunion Event.”

The match will reunite 27 former opponents from previous “Teen Tournaments” for a brand new twist on the “Nationwide School Championship” format. 

The younger contestants — who are actually undergraduates or current faculty graduates — will compete in a 14-day occasion for a $100,000 grand prize and a spot within the “Event of Champions.” 

The format could have 9 quarterfinal video games, three semifinals and a two-day whole level affair closing.

“We didn’t wish to lose that type of faculty vitality [this season],” government producer Michael Davies introduced on the Monday episode of its “Inside Jeopardy!” podcast. “We knew we had these 27 gamers who're all of school age who come from our present ‘Jeopardy!’ group, so this was an excellent alternative to deliver them again.”

Some former contestants set to compete embody Season 35’s “Teen Event I” champion Claire Sattler, now a senior at Yale College, and “Teen Event II” champion Avi Gupta, now a senior at Stanford College.

Different contestants embody Justin Bolsen, a freshman at Brown College; Maggie Brown, a junior on the College of West Florida; Tim Cho, a senior at Columbia College; Jack Izzo, a senior at Northwestern College; Jackson Jones, a junior at Vanderbilt College; Rohan Kapileshwari, a senior on the College of Texas at Austin; and Shriya Yarlagadda, a sophomore at Harvard College.

The information comes after “Jeopardy!” named Amy Schneider the winner of the “Event of Champions” on Nov. 21. She is the primary brazenly transgender contestant to compete within the match and gained the $250,000 grand prize.

The “Jeopardy! Excessive College Reunion Event” is about to air from Feb. 20 to March 9.
