Video launched by Russian state media reveals a first-hand view of WNBA star Brittney Griner being swapped for infamous arms supplier Viktor Bout on the tarmac of an airport within the United Arab Emirates.

The “Service provider of Demise” might be seen embracing his Russian countrymen after being free of federal custody hours earlier.

The footage, apparently shot from a ready Russian plane, reveals Bout and one other man strolling away from an unmarked passenger jet, in the direction of a bunch of individuals that features Griner and three males in fits.

Bout, an outlaw Russian arms supplier referred to as “The Service provider of Demise,” had been in US custody since 2008, when the Drug Enforcement Administration captured him in Thailand.

Whelan, a former US Marine, is serving a 16-year-sentence after being accused by Moscow of espionage in 2018. The White Home has insisted each Whelan and Griner had been wrongfully detained by Russia.

Griner was detained by Russian authorities in February after hashish was present in her baggage whereas coming into the nation — an incident the White Home has stated was politically motivated forward of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Griner pleaded responsible to drug possession fees in July. She was sentenced to 9 years in a pressured labor camp in Mordovia.

Whelan was not included within the deal struck between the White Home and the Kremlin.

Biden stated Thursday the swap “was not a alternative of which American to convey residence.” 

“We’ve not forgotten about Paul Whelan. We'll hold negotiating in good religion for Paul’s launch,” he added.
