Oregon Gov. Kate Brown commutes state’s 17 death sentences

Outgoing Oregon Gov. Kate Brown signed an order Tuesday to commute the sentences of the state’s 17 loss of life row inmates.

The term-limited politician who leaves workplace in lower than a month introduced the transfer Tuesday. She stated she would use her govt clemency powers to vary the sentences of the inmates to life imprisonment. None might be eligible for parole.
